Absence Seizures

Duration: 5 to 15 seconds

Area: Entire brain

Formerly known as ‘petite mal’ seizure.

Symptoms

  • Blank staring into space
  • Eyes rolling upwards or fluttering
  • No convulsions

Afterwards

May repeat many times throughout the day.

Focal Seizure with Retained Awareness
