Tonic Clonic Seizures: What to do?
1. Protect from injury. Put something soft under the person’s head.
2. Look at your watch. Time the seizure.
3. No objects. Never put anything in the person’s mouth and move objects that might be dangerous away.
4. Do not retrain. Let the seizure take its course.
5. Roll the person. Do this gently on her/his side as the seizure subsides.
6. Keep an eye on the person until he/she is fully alert again.
7. Be reassuring. Ask the person how you can help.
